Vice President-Garner Lanier

While the President’s primary responsibility is to serve as the chief executive officer, the Vice President has the somewhat-daunting task of running the show internally as the chief operating officer. From dealing with individual clubs and conducting the hiring process of Executive Directors, Programmers and Media Heads, to serving on ASUPS Senate and coordinating the ASUPS Budget Process each April, the Vice President constantly has a full plate in front of him/her. Working in an equal partnership with the President, the Vice President has his/her hands on a wide variety of things, and serves an integral role in the operations of ASUPS.

Director of Business Services-Adam Guzek

With an operating budget of over $500,000, ASUPS depends upon the Director of Business Services (DBS) to manage its funds, from individual allocations and disbursements to a broader understanding of the state of ASUPS funding. Much like the Vice President, the DBS has a multitude of things on his/her plate daily, and must deal with students as well as university staff and administration on a daily basis. The DBS serves on Finance Committee weekly and is a key member of the Budget Process each April.

Director of Public Relations-Jessica Shiarella

The main responsibility of the Director of Public Relations (DPR) is to foster a dialogue between ASUPS and the student body. Much like the President, the DPR works to increase campus awareness of events, clubs, resources and ASUPS in-general. The DPR also works closely with the Programmers to coordinate the individual programs and make sure that the student body’s needs are being met. All advertising runs through the DPR office, such as posters, the Tattler and bulletin boards. The DPR is also the point person on all multimedia communication and advertising, such as Facebook, Twitter and this Tumblr page.
